LAYOUT 2

this one is more modern, the text is rounder which gives it a softer feel, its clean with the white space and very clear of what is going on. it would be easy to navigate around the website, with my name and menu bar at he top.

LAYOUT 1

This one is much stronger in font and with the dark grey background. It gives off more of a magazine professional
look. the menu bar is at the bottom so you would navigate your way through the website at the bottom of the screen mostly. The about/portfolio/contact image links are lighter at the moment but when you scroll over the image and text, the image will lighten and the text will get bolder.

This website is clean and fresh, altough the home page is too simple i think it needs a main image or some imagery. When i first visted his webpage i though it hadn't loaded properly.

I like the layout of his work in his portfolio in book from, and you flick through his images like a book. I think down the bottom it should have small thumbnails of the

i dont like the horizontal menu bar, for me personaly the need to be listed underneath or on the next line down. This makes it alot clear and readable
For example:

Portfolio
work personal diary

OR

Portfolio
work
personal
diary

I like his name/ brand, with it all conected together but defined by being first and last name by useing different shades of colour.

Company of Strangers

the homepage is simple with the letters and text that scroll up, which then you can click to enter the site.i like the simple big main image when you first enter the site, with the main menu bar at the top, it style isn't too distracting. It takes awhile to look though all there images i would give up after awhile, because there is no small snippet of the images, you can only flick through the big images. this is frustrating and time consuming. i wish hen you clicked on each collection image a main image that summed up the collection came up, like it does in there collection homepage. otherwise they have a good about and contact page, with extras involving press, shop online and stock lists.

The home page is eye catching with the 6 main images that feature in the background as a slide show, i like this effect, for you get a sense of what style and level of work you are going to see in this website. In the far left bottom hand corner you have the option to make his site full screen, this is very effective because it takes away all the destraction and focuses on his website.

The image menu bar is a hidden down the bottom amoung the copyright. it needs to be visable and bigger. The scroller function is a little confusing for you can choose to "next" or "previous" through them all,(where there is a lot of images to see) or you can go to thumbnails in the image menu bar and pick what ones you would like to view.

I like the layout with text and menu on the left and images on the right, this stays the same the whole site. Which is good and consitant.

TV the label

I like the use of a main photo as the background on all the main pages other than the collection and press page. For this image to be a main backdrop it needs to be a simple image with a lot of white space so the information doesn't get lost amongest it, and as you can see it very effective.

The main menu bar is very clear and stays on every page, its easy to navigate around the webpage. I like how the main brand name is bigger and bolder than the other main titles and is also the link to link back to the main homepage.

The other feature i really like is in the collection page and how you can scroll through each image page by page, with a small blured down the bottom left. One thing i dont like is that you can't see the whole collection all in one if you wanted to, you have to scroll through the whole collection. with the press page the images come out at you once clicked on, this is effective and you can see all the images at once. I think they should have keep to one style of showing images, and keeping to it throughout the website.

the text is clean and simple, like a arial style. It wont out date and its easy to read.

Formative Assessment- 27/6/2011

-Images, need to site all people involved, such as photographer, model and clothes.
as well as a small blurb explaining the collection (inspiration, content, design sketches etc)

- "Other" page, need links to fashion photography and textile print, explaining that these are my other interests and hobbies.

-Be careful that my "other" page doesn't take over my main fashion portfolio, for this is who i am advertising myself as, i just had a boarder range of skills outside of fashion.

-Be really clear with headings/titles

- Do i show the hole process, inspiration, research, designing, pattern making, tolies, spec drawings, illustrations, construction, final garments, look book, campaign advertisement,
